What is YoBike?

We’re a dockless scooter rental startup that allows you to book scooters easily through our Android app.

What are the areas you serve currently?

We’re in select parts of Bangalore and Hyderabad currently. World domination is on our agenda, so we’ll be everywhere sooner or later.

Are you here for the long haul?

We are VERY serious – we’ve got our serious face on right now, although we’re fun loving folks otherwise. With some reputed VCs and the likes of Ola backing us, we promise there’s no End Trip option for us.

HOW IT WORKS

So, how does this work?

Easy peasy. Download the app, give us some details (driver’s license, please) and book a ride! Pick it up from one of our many spots around your location. Drop it in one of our nearby spots likewise when you reach your destination. Really, it is THAT simple. Don’t believe us? We’ve got 50,000 people vouching for this.

What type of drivers license is required?

Taking a ride with YoBike needs a verified Indian Driving License or an International Driver’s Permit (IDP).

How old do I have to be to join YoBike?

We require that you are legally permitted to drive in India for you to be able to use our services. In India, the legal age for getting a driver’s license is 18. International age limits will have to be adhered to for those with International Driver’s Permits.

How long does it take to become a member, and can I drive on the same day I become a member?

Riding a YoBike is really simple. All you need to do is sign up, upload your driving license and start riding!

How do I make a booking?

It’s super simple:

  • Open the YoBike App, choose your destination
  • Book a vehicle, navigate to the pick up point
  • Fillup the form
  • Pick up your bike and go!
  • Pay online via Paytm, PhonePe, GooglePay, or BHIM UPI.

  • Can I book for any period of time?

    You can book for any amount of time – we charge on a per minute basis or for specific intervals such as 1 hour, 2 hours, 10 hours etc.

    How far in advance do I need to make a reservation?

    We’re an on-demand service – so all you need to do is make a reservation and navigate to your pick up point.

    PRICING / PAYMENTS

    How much is a YoBike ride going to cost me?

    Rs 6.0/km. Sweet deal, right? Keep the cash for the fun things in life!

    What modes of payments are accepted?

    We accept ONLY online payments – Paytm, BHIM UPI, Debit / Credit Card and Net Banking. We do not support cash payments at this time.

    BOOKING RELATED QUERIES

    What type of vehicles does YoBike offer?

    YoBike offers scooters only at this time. Scooters can range from Scooty Zest to a larger scooter like Wego/ Jupiter/ Dio/Activa. All scooters are priced the same. At this time, you cannot pick a specific scooters. Scooters are allotted basis availability.

    Are there restrictions on where I can travel?

    You’re welcome to take one-way trips between our YoBike points. You can also take round trips and take the vehicle from your starting point and return it after it is used.

    Can I take a friend along?

    Of course! But two’s company and three’s a crowd, so we’d keep it to just ONE friend at a time if we were you. No triples, please.

    How do I get the keys to the bike?

    Sci-fi stuff – straight out of Star Wars. Make the booking and get the OTP on your mobile. Enter the OTP in the bike box and voila…it opens and gives your treasure – the keys!

    How do you ensure there’s fuel in the bike when I pick one?

    That’s on us. you come… you’ll find the bikes well maintained, cleaned up and filled to brim, every single time! If your trip is so long you’ve run out of fuel, just refuel the bike and send us your receipts. We promise quick easy refunds as YoBike credits or to your Paytm wallet. Just like that.

    Where are YoBike scooters located?

    YoBike scooters are available at numerous pick-up points across parts of Indore. Just fire up our app and you’ll see all the points within 500m of you. If you can’t see us there, hopefully, we’ll be near you very soon.

    What if I leave something in my YoBike vehicle?

    YoBike is not responsible for your belongings. However, reach out to us via in-app support and we’ll try our best to help you retrieve your possession.

    FEES AND FINES

    Is there a deposit?

    We don’t ask our members to pay any deposits.

    Who pays for any parking fees incurred during the ride?

    If you park outside one of our designated points, you will have to bear associated charges.

    Am I responsible for parking/moving, driving without helmets, wrong side driving etc and any other traffic violations?

    We equip all our bikes with 2 helmets. If you encounter any bike without a helmet at the time of ride being started, please alert our customer care. Any fines due to violations of traffic rules during the ride will have to be borne by you.

    What is damage fee and when does it apply?

    We charge a damage fee when the vehicle is involved in an accident or is otherwise misused. You will have to pay the damage fee when you return the vehicle.

    SAFETY & REGULATIONS

    What safety precautions do you take?

    Our customers are very responsible riders. Yes, we’re talking about you! All our bikes have 2 helmets, please use them!

    What do I do if the vehicle breaks down?

    Reach out to us via in-app help support immediately. We’ll get our fleet executive team to give you help as soon as possible.

    Can someone else drive YoBike vehicles during my reservation?

    Our YoBike scooters are meant for use ONLY by the customer who made the booking. If vehicles changes hands, our insurance coverage is invalidated in case of any unforeseen event.

    How can I search & apply for job postings?

    The open positions would be reflected in the Careers Page of YoBike. You can browse through the Job Description and find the role which befits you the best.

    I’ve submitted a job application. What is the next step?

    Simple. Upon receiving the Job Application, you would be getting a communication email from us stating precisely the status of your Application.

    Is there someone who I can contact regarding the status of my job application?

    You would be getting a communication email from us asserting the status of your Job Application.
    In case you have any questions, you can direct your queries to us at career@shikhainnovative.in.
    If your profile is taken forward into the selection process, the recruiter concerned would be the one who you can reckon for any queries.

    Would my candidature be considered for more than 1 job position?

    We encourage you to explore and apply to any job role that jibes with your academic skills and interests.
    In case your job application is taken further into the selection process, we would be accessing it across your qualification, work experience, and areas of interest. If they are congruent, then your candidature can be considered for other job positions too.

    Is there a provision to modify/update my candidature information at a later stage?

    No such provision of modification of job application is available.
